Welcome to Somewhere South Fishing Charters. Capt. Ronnie Hayes has a long history fishing the waters of Tampa Bay and the beautiful Gulf of Mexico that started as a young boy growing up here in St.Petersburg, Florida. If its inshore fishing that your after, look no further. Capt. Ronnie Hayes targets Snook, Redfish, Trout and Tarpon most of the year. His favorite time to fish comes in the months of April through August, where he spends most of his time catching tarpon under the Skyway Bridge. As a United States Coast Guard Licensed Charter Captain, he does his best to make sure your fishing adventure is full of excitement . So what do you say? Book your trip and lets go fishing!!!!
BOAT
We will be fishing out of a custom 24' Pathfinder Tournament Series Bay Boat powered by a 2021 Yamaha 300 four stroke engine. The boat is outfitted with a half tower with upper and lower controls. The half tower has a built in t-top that provides plenty of shade on hot sunny days. The boat has three live-wells and twin Power poles for anchoring in the shallow water flats. Upper and Lower Garmin touch screen electronics with built in navigation. Twin Motor Guide trolling motors for the bow and stern. Custom Fusion Head Unit with JL Custom Speakers.
FAQ
What should I bring?
We recommend that clients bring drinks, lunch, snacks, sunscreen, hats, beach towels, sunglasses and face mask.
What's provided?
All fishing gear including rods, reels, bait, tackle, ice, bottled water and fishing license.
What and why should I tip the captain/mate?
Tips are discrentionary howver it is customary to tip the crew 20% for good service.

Fishing Tampa Bay and the surrounding waters allows us to target tarpon, snook, redfish, trout, snapper, cobia, kingfish and grouper. Are target areas include all of Tampa Bay, St Petersburg, and Clearwater.
